I just met a lovely woman named Robin at the Cranston Family Center. Her colleague Grace Swinski reached out to RI Waves and offered to distribute RI Waves bumper stickers and pins to their clients. This is great – they are helping to get the word out across Rhode Island to Stop, Look and Wave at every street crossing. RI Waves posters will soon appear on their doors as well. Next week during their Me and My Guy event Grace volunteered to hand out our RI Waves Safer Streets Survey!
I’m the new RI Waves Program Coordinator and I’m a new resident to the state of Rhode Island. The Cranston Family Center demonstrates the kind of enthusiasm and caring that I run into often in our small but plucky state. Not only does that attitude help to get the message for safer streets out to local communities but I personally find it very welcoming. It shows me what this state is capable of – and that warms my heart.
