RI Waves attended Johnson & Wales University’s very successful 6th Annual Health & Wellness Fair on Wednesday, September 25th. JWU’s Good Life Expo was presented by Performance Food Group of Springfield, Massachusetts.
The expo was well attended and had vendors from all over New England. The purpose of the Good Life Expo was to actively engage the JWU community in an experience that promotes holistic well-being. At the event students and employees obtained flu vaccinations, participated in health screenings, interacted with on- and off-campus health and wellness resources, sampled healthy food, and learned about our RI Waves campaign! Participants were very interested in the campaign, and some shared stories about how they would love for a campaign like RI Waves in their hometowns. One participant shared her happiness with the campaign because her partner was hit and injured by a car, while riding a bike. She was happy to learn that Rhode Island is taking action for safer streets.
The fair was a great way to spread our message that if all road users stop, look and wave, we’ll get to where we’re going, safely. Check out some of the students, faculty, and vendors who learned how to Stop, Look & Wave to BE NOTICED for Safer Streets!
